An inspiring, collaborative and intensive workshop for string players of approximately Grade 7/Suzuki Book 7 level and above (up to the age of 25). This workshop will be held at St. Oran’s College in Lower Hutt.
Each student receives
Daily master class instruction on a prepared piece (maximum length of chosen piece approximately 10 minutes)
Collaboration with professional pianist leading to public performance
Upper strings/lower strings instrumental ensembles, including technique work, leading to public group performance (music will be sent in advance)
String orchestra sectionals and rehearsals leading to public performance (music will be sent in advance)
Final concerts
Wednesday 8 April afternoon /evening for solo performances
Thursday 9 April, 12:10 pm, St Andrew’s on the Terrace for ensembles, orchestra performance and selected solos
Hours
Classes will take place during the following hours; the exact timetable will be finalised once registrations have closed.
Monday and Tuesday 9:30 am – 5 pm
Wednesday teaching hours 9 am – 3 pm, recitals 5 pm and 7-8 pm
Thursday 10 am – 1 pm (St. Andrew’s)
