WELLINGTON STRING ACADEMY’S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)

Held on Sunday 31st May 2026, from 17:45 to 17:50

1. Attendance

  • Present: Regina Nispel, May Lee, Chris Harrison, Lynley Culliford, Nadja Sekicki, Helene Pohl, Rolf Gjelsten, Nicole Chao, Chen Zhou
  • Apologies: none received

2. Previous AGM Minutes 

  • As this is our first AGM there are no previous AGM minutes to be approved

3. Any matters arising

  • none

4. Financial report

  • 2025/2026 WSA Performance Report and the 2025/2026 WSA Balance Sheet was presented by May and accepted

5. Chair report

  • Founding of the WSA in November 2025
  • The intention was to create event-based opportunities for young string players from school age up to the age of 25 to learn, perform, be inspired and network in an inclusive environment through expert coaching
  • WSA is committed to fostering creativity and building a supportive community for the next generation of musicians
  • Membership pool since grew from the founding 8 to currently almost 40 members

6. Music Director’s reports

  • WSA activities and events since its foundation in Nov 25: Extravaganzas, Excerpt Classes, a very successful inaugural Autumn Workshop, the CMMW 
  • WSA in planning an inaugural summer school in January 27 focusing on chamber music

7. WSA’s Committee elections

  • Jenni Champion is stepping back from the committee, the committee thanked her for all her work and time volunteered on the behalf of the WSA
  • Election of WSA Committee Members and Officers for 2026/2027:

Chair : Regina Nispel

Treasurer : May Lee

Co-Art Directors : Lynley Culliford and Nadja Sekicki

Committee Members : Chris Harrison, Helen Pohl and Rolf Gjelsten

  • The WSA committee welcomes further nomination for the committee and offices

8. Ratification of Constitution

  • The constitution was ratified by the AGM
